How to Use Social Networking for your Business
Social networking is powerful. How can you harness that power for your website or business? Here are some tips you can use at any of the sites:
- Create a profile about you, not your business - If you are uncomfortable with creating a profile for yourself, try creating a profile for your company's mascot. - You know the old real estate saying "location, location, location"? There's a similar one for the internet - information, information, information. Give away some information on your profile. - Social networks are about people. People 'friend' you to build a relationship with you, not to hear your sales pitch. Your friends in real life know about your business and will come to you if they need advice or need the product you offer, but you aren't constantly selling to them. Try to build similar trust online. - If you give a little and ask for little, you will receive great benefits. - Use friendly calls to action like 'more info here' and 'I'm running out of time, so here's more info', instead of 'click here now'. Basically, treat people on the internet like potential friends, not potential customers and you might just gain both! |
